5 months!

Today Gemma officially turned 5 months! :)

She continues to surprise us everyday with how much she is blossoming and becoming her own little person. She laughs a lot now, like real hearty laughs, bats unwanted things away with her hand, has learned how to put the pacifier in her mouth when we hand it to her (this was really incredible the first time we saw it), plays with her feet constantly, continues her drooling ways and vocalizes like crazy.Gemma is learning how to sit up, though she's still can't do it by herself. Her tummy time has become more comfortable for her and when she tries to crawl she grunts a lot - we call her little Monica Seles. She loves to see the world upside down and exercise her leg muscles by pretending to walk like in the picture above. Everyday is a new adventure. :)

Super Tuesday

Gemma and I took a short walk across the street to do our civic duty and voted. However you may have been leaning, I hope you were able to get the vote out!

Music Class

Gemma and I are taking an music class for infants at Mo Music.

It is super fun for both of us. We sing songs and dance around and she giggles and loves to look at the other babies and parents. She even gets to play instruments - here she is in her very first class and her very first time playing maracas:

In her 2nd class she played a lot with the tambourine:
I hope that she continues to enjoy the music and movement and that she becomes musically inclined. :)

Footies

Gemma is almost 5 months old! :)

Her latest new trick is playing with her feet and toes. They are her favorite toy these days. She just loves to grab them, preferably both feet at the same time. She's become Graby McGraberson - everything she needs to touch and put in her mouth. Here she is on her way to grab the camera. :)
Here's what happens when she actually grabs the camera - Attack of the Giant Baby:
Thank goodness she's so adorable because lately she's been reverting and waking up at all hours of the night. She used to be such a good sleeper but now I feel like I'm dealing with a newborn again. In my mom's groups, everyone with babies this age is going through the same thing, it seems. It just may be that she's going through a growth spurt or maybe teething. She drools like crazy.

Blitz doesn't help us much either. He's taken to howling for attention at the most inopportune times, often waking up the baby. Scott and I are still trying to figure how to deal with it.
All in all, life is good and Gemma is the light of our lives. :)

Bouncy Chair

Gemma loves her bouncy chair. At first she was completely terrified by it but now she loves it! :) Here's a short little video or her playing in it:
